Kundalini Yoga with Cynthia Weir: Tuesday 8:30-9:45am
Kundalini Yoga, the Yoga of Awareness, was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1968. Yogi Bhajan taught that, through the practice of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, your glandular and nervous systems are stimulated, and your capacity for creative potential is heightened. You gain inner vitality to compensate for the adverse effects of stress so you can excel in life.
Kundalini yoga classes are a dynamic blend of postures, pranayam (breath exercises) mantra, music and meditation, which teach you the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation. Balancing body and mind enables you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul. No previous experience in yoga is required for you to achieve results with your very first class.
“Men of great knowledge actually found out about the chakras – their workings, their petals, their sounds, their infinity, their co-relationship, their powers. They found that the life of a human is totally based on these chakras. This total science gave birth to Kundalini Yoga." Yogi Bhajan, The Aquarian Teacher

Hatha Yoga with Rebecca: Monday 6:30-7:45pm
Hatha Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit terms "ha" meaning sun, and "tha" meaning moon. Hatha Yoga classically refers to a holistic yogic path of various practices, or branches. Two of the main branches of the practice are "asana," or postures and "pranayama," or breath techniques. This class is suitable for practitioners of all levels, and is a safe environment for everyone. A focus on the breath as a meditative anchor is utilized throughout practice. This is an ideal class for refining alignment, building strength, stress-reduction, and beginning a personal meditation practice. Class flow follows that of Classical Hatha Yoga: seated meditation & pranayama followed by warm-up asanas, salutation series, strong standing practices, balancing asanas, and floor postures. The practice is concluded with a period of deep relaxation or sarvasana, with a guided meditation to facilitate the release of remaining tension and to allow for integration of your yoga practice.
