COMMITMENTS

Dancer Commitments:

• Dedicated to showing up physically, mentally and emotionally to classes for yourself, your teachers, and your company members. (dance is dependent on everyone showing up to classes, attendance is critical to the success of the entire dance company)
• Dedicated to being a leader within Mayama by helping to provide a respectful and welcoming environment for all dancers, families, and teachers.
• Dedicated to your own self-improvement and growth.
• Dedicated to MDC’s success, development & growth.

Mayama’s Commitments:

• Nourishing environment that fosters learning, mutual respect, and belonging.
• Seeking, uplifting and promoting skilled, kind and creative teachers.
• Seeing every dancer and committing to both their dance and personal development.
• Providing multiple opportunities to perform within the community (examples: Winter Showcase, Parade of Lights, Halloween Parade, Lyons Concert in the Park, Lyons Community Foundation/LEAF Annual Fundraiser, Boulder Jazz)
• Dedicated to doing our best to uplift each dancer and our community.

Dancer & Family Commitments:

Junior Company 

• 11 month commitment (August-June)   
• Minimum of three 60 min weekly dance technique classes/year & costume fees. Jazz, Hip Hop & Ballet are the required techniques.
• Weekly 60 minute company rehearsal/enrollment (this is where they rehearse their company pieces).
• Each company dance is $260 which includes a weekend/summer intensive and costume.
• Availability in June & August for company rehearsals
• Attendance to 2-3 competitions/conventions beginning in January of 2025.

Teen Company 

• 11 month commitment (August-June)   
• Minimum of four 60-75 min weekly dance technique classes/year & costume fees. Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet & Contemporary are the required techniques.
• Weekly 60 minute company rehearsal/enrollment.
• 3-4 total company dances, $290 each which includes costume and weekend or summer intensive.
• Availability in June & August for company rehearsals
• Attendance to 2-3 competitions/conventions beginning in January of 2025.

Senior Company 

• 11 month commitment (August-June)  
• Minimum of 5 weekly dance technique classes/year & costume fees. Required classes are Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, Hip Hop & Turns & Leaps
• Weekly 75 minute company rehearsal/enrollment.
• 3-5 total company dances, $290 each which includes costume and weekend or summer intensive.
• Availability in June & August for company rehearsals
• Attendance to 2-3 competitions/conventions beginning in January of 2025.

Additional fees:

Annual MDC membership, $125
MDC Warmups $105
Convention/Competition Fees: $500-$1200 (dependent on number of dances and number of convention/competitions we attend).

~we do one annual fundraiser a year which paid for one total competition and costume fee per dancer last year.

Highly recommended EXTRA:

 ~all MDC accounts must keep an active credit card on file (accounts will be auto-billed monthly for the next month's tuition, performances, competition and costume fees).

At Mayama’s heart is a place where all who desire to dance have access to our beautiful studio, passionate teachers, creativity, inspiration, movement, and a safe and inclusive space.

In an effort to provide access, Mayama now offers tiered pricing. Tiered pricing is on an honor system and we trust that you and your family will choose the tier that is supportive to your family and Mayama’s future.

• 70% of full tuition
• 80% of full tuition
• 100% of tuition

Furthermore, we have decided to discount multiple class enrollments by 25%. So, any additional enrollments per student will receive 25% off (company choreography classes are the only exception to this discount).
